Area without the headache

What this concept means
Area is how much surface something covers — length times width for a rectangle.
Why it matters
You estimate area when buying flooring, paint, fabric, or planning a garden.
Where you use it
Home projects, moving, gardening, even packing a car.
Real-life example
A 12 ft × 10 ft room = 120 sq ft. Add 10% extra for cuts → buy 132 sq ft of tile.
Try it yourself
A bedroom is 11 ft × 14 ft. About how much carpet should you buy with 10% extra?
